Jessica Simpson has revealed provocative cover art for her new single "Savage," posting an image that shows the singer in leopard-print lingerie and a fur-trimmed jacket as she promotes the latest release from her EP Nashville Canyon: Pt 2.

In the photograph Simpson, 45, flashes her midriff while wearing stacked rings, drop earrings, a choker set with emerald stones and a long chain with a cross pendant. She included lines from the song in the post, writing, "I’ll chase away the giants. Unwire the way you’re wired. Let me slow you down, down, down…"

"Savage" is the latest single tied to Nashville Canyon: Pt 2, a follow-up to the EP Simpson released in March. That earlier release came shortly after Simpson disclosed she and husband Eric Johnson had been living separately and were navigating a "painful situation" in their marriage. Simpson and Johnson announced their separation earlier this year; they married in 2014 and are parents to three children: daughter Maxwell, 13; son Ace, 12; and daughter Birdie, 6.

Simpson has framed the new music as personal and emotionally driven. In a behind-the-scenes video about the making of the songs, she said, "The reward of a broken heart is a ballad. You gotta feel to heal." Breakup rumors first circulated in November 2024 when Simpson began teasing new material, writing, "This comeback is personal. It’s an apology to myself for putting up with everything I did not deserve." Simpson announced her separation publicly in January.

The new single arrives as Simpson returns to high-profile appearances. She attended the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards last weekend, where she presented the Latin Icon Award to Ricky Martin and later appeared onstage with her younger sister, Ashlee Simpson, to present the award for best pop duo/group performance. At the VMAs, Simpson wore a semi-sheer black Christian Siriano dress and a tousled ponytail.

Simpson first rose to fame in the late 1990s and early 2000s and was previously married to Nick Lachey from 2002 to 2006. Her new releases continue a recent shift toward country-influenced material and songwriting drawn from her personal life.

Representatives for Simpson did not immediately respond to requests for comment. The single "Savage" will be available on streaming platforms and digital retailers as part of the promotional rollout for Nashville Canyon: Pt 2.
