Jerry O’Connell has detailed the surprisingly risqué jokes he used to break the ice with John Stamos, ending a years-long feud. The two actors encountered each other at a birthday party last year, years after public tension flared following Stamos' 2005 divorce from Romijn, whom O'Connell married two years later.
In an appearance on SiriusXM's Radio Andy, O'Connell described approaching Stamos and whispering two sexually charged remarks during a hug. He recalled saying, "She says you're bigger than me. Do you want her back?" He followed this with another quip: "She says Greeks are better lovers."
The feud initially stemmed from Stamos' 2023 memoir, "If You Would Have Told Me," in which he described his divorce from Romijn, admitting he once "hated" her and considered her "the Devil." Romijn stated she was "blindsided" by these comments, while O'Connell publicly responded, "People gotta make a living, I guess."
Stamos' memoir also touched on feelings of emasculation during his marriage to Romijn as her career began to ascend. He wrote about the challenges of maintaining their relationship amidst their diverging career paths and stated, "Somewhere deep inside, I start to believe it."
Despite the backlash, Stamos told Us Weekly in 2024 that he doesn't regret writing about Romijn, citing the adage, "anything less than the truth is paralysis… it sets you free."
Romijn and O'Connell met in 2004 and married in 2007. O'Connell recounted to People in 2017 that he met his wife and her ex-husband, Stamos, at the same party. He noted an immediate connection with Romijn, stating, "Day one, we clicked."
