Jeremy Allen White is saying goodbye to his role as Chef Carmy Berzatto in "The Bear" as the FX series heads into its fifth and final season. White told Page Six exclusively that playing the character has been a "life-changing experience" and that he feels "really lucky" for the opportunity.

"Things changed," White shared, noting that while he has been working since his teenage years, including a long run on "Shameless" and appearances on "Law & Order," "The Bear" significantly boosted his career. The role provided him with a level of career choice and control that few actors experience.

"I got that gift, you know, very few actors are lucky enough to get, which is like, you get some choice, and you get some say-so and [get to decide] what you want to do and what you want your career to look like," he explained. "And I think ‘The Bear’ gave me that."

Beyond his career, White also noted that "The Bear" has enhanced his practical skills in the kitchen. "I’m not saying I’m great," he said modestly, "But I’m definitely better. I do like a Sunday roast, a short rib in a Dutch oven that is really nice. I can make a really good steak and make a poivre that is really nice, yeah, like meat and potatoes kind of stuff."

White was present at the premiere event for the show's fifth season, referred to as the "Final Family Meal," alongside castmates Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Ayo Edebiri, Matty Matheson, Liza Colon-Zayas, and Lionel Boyce.
