Jenny Powell, the 57-year-old English television presenter, posted Instagram photos from a sunshine break in Ibiza showing her in a multiprint bikini and describing the location as a “home from home.” Powell said she and her fiancé, Martin Lowe, were on the island to celebrate the wedding of two close friends at the Atzaro Luxury Hotel.

In her social media captions Powell wrote that the group “chilled, did nothing, did everything and celebrated the marriage of two beautiful souls,” and thanked friends for the “magical energy” of the occasion. Photographs shared on her account showed Powell posing poolside and Lowe relaxing on a sunbed as the couple took part in the celebrations.

Powell has in recent months been open about health issues following a robotic hysterectomy she underwent last year to manage severe symptoms related to menopause. She has posted images charting her recovery and shown her surgical scars, and used her platform to encourage other women to take post-operative recovery seriously.

Reflecting on her recovery, Powell wrote that healing required slowing down, planning and seeking appropriate medical advice about hormone therapy, and accepting help from family and friends. She said she had been “overwhelmed” by responses from other women and signalled plans to build a community around shared experiences, addressing fellow patients as “hystersisters.”

Powell has also shared highlights of a family trip to Spain that included her two daughters, Constance, 24, and Pollyanna, 16, whom she shares with ex-husband Toby Baxendale. In previous posts she documented her scars across several weeks as part of her recovery narrative.

A hysterectomy is a surgical procedure to remove a woman’s uterus; there are different types that may remove part or all of the uterus and, in some cases, the cervix, ovaries and fallopian tubes. The operation is most commonly performed on women between 40 and 49, and more than 20 million American women have had a hysterectomy, according to data from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Doctors may recommend the surgery to treat conditions such as fibroids, endometriosis, chronic pain or heavy bleeding.

Powell is best known for her television work, including presenting roles on shows such as Gimme 5. Her recent posts combine leisure imagery from Ibiza with candid discussion of health and recovery, drawing attention from followers for both the holiday photos and her account of post-operative care.
