Actress Jennifer Metcalfe, known for her role in the Channel 4 soap opera 'Hollyoaks,' has shared insights into her two-year relationship with boyfriend Josh, stating she has no immediate plans for marriage or moving in together.
Metcalfe, 42, told the Daily Mail that while she has never envisioned a large wedding, she feels content in her current relationship. "Moving in together is not in our path at the minute, it’s just the way our lifestyles are right now," she said. Instead, the couple prioritizes frequent travel, often going on holiday "every other weekend." This travel schedule aligns with her son Daye's, nine, arrangements to stay with his father, former 'Geordie Shore' star Greg Lake, on alternating weekends.
"We live on holiday. My boyfriend loves an itinerary, and he loves a flight. We love jetting off whenever we can," Metcalfe explained. She noted that her son's visits to his father allow for these getaways.
Metcalfe met Josh through mutual friends, a method she prefers over dating apps. The couple was first publicly seen together in April 2024, and she has largely kept the relationship private.

In the same interview, Metcalfe also discussed her perspective on aging and her past career as a prominent figure in lads' magazines. She dismissed the idea that one should look "aged" in their forties, emphasizing that feeling good and happy is key to appearance. "I don’t think there is ever any secret. I think if you are just happy in your life, then you're going to look and feel good," she stated, adding that she has had some Botox and enjoys red wine and having fun.
Metcalfe reflected on her time posing for lads' magazines with 'Hollyoaks' co-stars as positive. "I feel like they were the early days and my early memories of Hollyoaks," she recalled. "I found it so much fun, and I never had any bad experiences on shoots, thankfully."
Metcalfe, who has been with 'Hollyoaks' for 20 years playing Mercedes McQueen, indicated she has no immediate plans to leave the show, unless her character's storyline dictates otherwise. She stated that the production has been accommodating to her lifestyle.
