Jennifer Metcalfe, known for her role on the Channel 4 soap opera 'Hollyoaks,' has revealed that she has no immediate plans for marriage or moving in with her boyfriend, Josh, whom she has been dating for two years. The 42-year-old actress shared in a rare interview that while she is content in their relationship, her lifestyle and that of her partner do not currently align with such traditional milestones.

Instead of cohabitation or a wedding, Metcalfe stated that the couple prioritizes frequent travel. "We live on holiday. My boyfriend loves an itinerary, and he loves a flight. We love jetting off whenever we can," she told the Daily Mail. These getaways often occur every other weekend, during which time her son, Daye, nine, stays with his father, former 'Geordie Shore' star Greg Lake. Metcalfe expressed no desire for a "big white wedding dress" but did not rule out marriage entirely, stating, "I’ve never thought about marriage in my path, but you never know."

Metcalfe met Josh through mutual friends, a method she prefers over dating apps. "I think you need the friend introduction like I had," she commented. The couple was first publicly seen together in April 2024, and Metcalfe has largely kept the relationship private.

Reflections on Career and Appearance

In the same interview, Metcalfe discussed her approach to aging and her past career as a prominent figure in men's magazines during the late 2000s and early 2010s. She dismissed the notion that women in their forties should appear "aged," emphasizing that feeling good is more important than conforming to societal expectations. "I don’t think there is ever any secret. I think if you are just happy in your life, then you're going to look and feel good," she said, adding that while she has had some Botox, she also enjoys red wine and having fun.

Elsewhere in the interview, Jennifer spoke about her secrets to looking incredible in her forties and reflected on being a lads' mag pin-up

Metcalfe recalled her time participating in lads' mag photoshoots with 'Hollyoaks' co-stars as "the best times of our lives," though she humorously noted she might not be inclined to do similar shoots now. She maintained that those experiences were fun and had served their purpose at the time, and she never had negative experiences.

Metcalfe, who has been a fixture on 'Hollyoaks' for two decades playing Mercedes McQueen, expressed her commitment to the show, indicating she has no plans to leave unless her character's storyline takes a dramatic turn. She stated that the production has been accommodating to her lifestyle over the years.
