Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have "stayed on friendly terms" one year after their divorce and plan to remain involved in each other's lives for the sake of their children, a source told Page Six.
"Things between Ben and Jennifer are good even though they're not together anymore," the source said, adding that both prioritize raising their kids in a supportive environment. The pair finalized their divorce in February, six months after Lopez filed for dissolution of the marriage; Lopez listed the couple's separation date as April 2024.
Lopez, 55, is the mother of 17-year-old twins Emme and Max. Affleck, 52, is the father of Violet, 19; Seraphina, 16; and Samuel, 13. The Page Six report said the children remain close, often share friend groups and see each other frequently. "The kids are still really close," the outlet quoted the source as saying. "They have the same groups of friends, they see each other and they talk all the time."
An additional source told Page Six that Lopez "is a great mom and always gave Ben's kids the same love," and that although her contact with Affleck has become "more sporadic," both parents ensure the children can spend time together whenever they want. Representatives for Lopez and Affleck did not immediately respond to requests for comment from the outlet.
The former couple have been publicly seen together on several occasions since their split. Page Six published photos showing Lopez out shopping in Beverly Hills with Affleck's youngest child over the weekend, and the pair were reported to have had lunch together. They were previously photographed shopping together in August 2024.
Affleck has spoken positively about Lopez's relationship with his children in recent months. At the premiere of The Accountant 2 in April, he described Lopez as a "spectacular" person and praised the ongoing bonds between her and his children, telling Entertainment Tonight, "She is great to my kids [and has a] great ongoing relationship with [them]. I love her kids. They're wonderful. I'm thrilled her kids are with me." Affleck added that parenthood and his relationships with children are "the joy of my life," and said he tries his "best, certainly" to be a "really good dad."
The couple's divorce followed a widely covered relationship that had reunited them after earlier decades of public attention. Since their split, both Lopez and Affleck have maintained professional commitments and public appearances while emphasizing family stability in interviews and reports.
Page Six reported that the former spouses "plan to stay in each other's lives" and that ensuring a supportive environment for their blended family remains a shared priority. The ongoing interactions and public outings underscore an effort by both parents to preserve relationships among the children and to minimize disruption as they move forward separately.
