Jennifer Garner stars in the upcoming eight-episode miniseries "The Five Star Weekend," set to premiere exclusively on Peacock on July 9. The series is an adaptation of Elin Hilderbrand's novel and centers on Hollis Shaw, a food influencer reeling from the sudden death of her husband.
Following her loss, Shaw's relationship with her daughter becomes strained. In an effort to cope, she decides to host a "five star" weekend at her Nantucket home. Shaw invites four friends from different phases of her life—childhood, her twenties, thirties, and a surprise fifth guest—hoping to find healing.
The ensemble cast features D’Arcy Carden, Gemma Chan, Regina Hall, and Chloë Sevigny as Shaw's close friends. Timothy Olyphant is also slated to appear as a friend and potential love interest.
"The Five Star Weekend" aims to blend dramatic and comedic elements, drawing parallels to "The Summer I Turned Pretty" and "Big Little Lies." The series will follow the characters from Hilderbrand's book as Shaw navigates her grief and reconnects with her support system.
