Jennifer Brooke, an actress best known for her role as Rachel Hardy on the E4 soap opera 'Hollyoaks', has married her film-maker partner Lawton Charman in a private ceremony in Barcelona. Brooke shared the news of their wedding on Instagram, posting images from the event which took place on July 10, 2026. The couple, who had been together for a decade, became engaged in May 2025.
Brooke, who played Rachel Hardy from 2015 to 2016 before her character was killed off, revealed her wedding by sharing a carousel of images on social media. She captioned the post: 'I’ve lost my voice and gained a new second name. 10th July 2026…. We did the damn thing.' The ceremony was held by the coast in the beach town of Sitges.
Prior to the wedding, Brooke celebrated her hen party in June 2026 with a trip to Marrakech. Her engagement announcement in May 2025, after ten years with Charman, included a picture of her engagement ring with the caption: '10 years later… she said "yeah alright"'.
Brooke's television credits include a role in the BBC sitcom 'White Gold' and a guest appearance in 'Call The Midwife'. She has also starred in 'My Name Is Lenny' and 'The Last Letter from Your Lover'. In addition to her acting career, Brooke teaches acting to young people and co-directs the B.O.S.S Acting School.
'Hollyoaks', a long-running British soap opera, has recently undergone changes, including a move to E4 and a reduction in its weekly episode count to three shows per week. These changes were part of budget-saving measures by Channel 4 bosses, following a significant advertising slowdown, which resulted in a reduction of 135 jobs on the show. Lime Pictures, the production company for 'Hollyoaks', initiated a consultation period as part of these adjustments.
