Jennifer Aniston was photographed in New York City on Monday carrying Aupen’s new “Nova” bag while wearing a black suit vest, matching trousers and pointed-toe pumps.
The carryall, billed as the Nova Noir, retails for $340 and is described by the brand as calfskin leather with gold-tone metal hardware and an adjustable shoulder strap. Page Six reported the style was not available for purchase at the time it was seen. The Nova is a variation on Aupen’s Nirvana silhouette, which also retails for $340 but has been listed as sold out and is distinguished by a braided handle.
Aupen’s asymmetrical handbags have become a fixture of what the label and some fashion observers describe as the quiet-luxury trend, offering sculptural shapes at mid-range prices. The brand’s pieces have been spotted on several high-profile celebrities, including Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, Selena Gomez and Olivia Rodrigo in reference to the Nirvana style, and other stars such as Kylie Jenner, Hailey Bieber, Emily Blunt and Gabrielle Union. Page Six previously spoke with members of Aupen’s anonymous design team, who said their work is "influenced by art and architecture" and aims to "move away from the idea of perfection and embrace irregularity." The designers also said the company name is a portmanteau of "authentic" and "open," and credited Jenner with helping broaden the label’s exposure after she carried the company’s Fearless bag in Manhattan in Nov. 2022.
Aniston, 56, paired the Nova with simple gold accessories, including hoop earrings and a necklace. Photographs show the actor carrying the bag by hand and also wearing it on the shoulder, underscoring the adjustable-strap description from the company.
Earlier in the same week Aniston was photographed in a more casual look while out with boyfriend Jim Curtis. That outfit included a white tank top, patchwork denim jeans, a tan jacket, a black leather handbag and black Tkees flip-flops.
The actor has recently spoken publicly about aging and self-care. In a Q&A published this month by Glamour, Aniston said she credits an "eternal fountain of optimism and positivity" and the way people love their bodies for helping them age gracefully.
