Jennifer Aniston became visibly emotional during an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show when she recalled the death of her longtime dog, Norman.

The Morning Show actress, who said Norman — a Welsh corgi‑terrier mix — died in May 2011 at age 15, began to cry while describing a retreat she attended with actress Shirley MacLaine in New Mexico. Host Drew Barrymore asked what had moved Aniston about her time with MacLaine, and Aniston said she had been with MacLaine when her dog passed away and was taken by memories stirred during a "past life regression retreat."

Aniston, 56, told Barrymore that MacLaine had suggested the two had been mother and daughter in a previous lifetime, a claim Aniston said helped explain their instant bond. MacLaine has publicly described strong connections to past lives and has related memories of living as a harem girl in Turkey, a performer in ancient times, a Muslim gypsy in Spain and, she has said, a resident of the mythical city of Atlantis.

The conversation shifted to professional prospects. Aniston said she and Barrymore planned to "do something" together on screen, and Barrymore suggested including actor Adam Sandler in a potential project. Aniston expressed interest in appearing on Broadway, saying she admired the theater community and recalled being moved by a performance of Annie.

Aniston also discussed a planned remake of the film 9 to 5, saying Dolly Parton will be involved. She described Parton as "everything you would imagine and more," adding that Parton is candid and genuine in person.

Dogs were brought onto Barrymore's set during the episode, and Aniston at one point apologized as she became tearful while speaking about Norman and the emotional context of the retreat. She described the New Mexico experience as a past‑life regression retreat and acknowledged that the description might sound unusual when spoken aloud.

Aniston rose to fame on the television series Friends and has continued to work in film and television. Her remarks on Barrymore's show combined personal reflection about grief and companionship with hints at future collaborations and stage aspirations.

Barrymore has hosted her daytime talk show since 2020, and she has often used the platform for candid conversations with celebrity friends. Aniston's appearance continued that pattern, blending personal anecdotes with promotional and professional updates.
