Jenna Fischer, who starred alongside Lucy Davis in the U.S. version of "The Office," has sent a message of support to her former co-star after Davis publicly shared her terminal cancer diagnosis. Davis, 53, announced on Tuesday via Instagram that she is battling Stage 4 breast cancer that has metastasized to her bones.

Fischer, 41, a breast cancer survivor, commented on Davis’ announcement, calling it a “beautiful post” and expressing her affection. "Love you lots," Fischer wrote, also endorsing Davis' decision to continue working while undergoing treatment. "Let’s spread that message far and wide! How working is such a comfort."

Fischer was diagnosed with Stage 1 breast cancer in December 2023 and announced in early 2024 that she was cancer-free following a lumpectomy, chemotherapy, and radiation.

Davis, known for her role as Dawn Tinsley in the original U.K. "The Office" series, revealed that her cancer is incurable and has spread to her spine, right hip, and ribs. She stated that it is “too late for chemo” and that she is focusing on living the remainder of her life in a positive way. "I’m not scared of whatever comes next. I’m at peace with it," Davis shared. "For me, leaving my physical body just means going home. Any and all grieving is for my family; it’s far harder for them than for me."

Other colleagues and friends have also offered support to Davis. Ricky Gervais, her co-star from "The Office," posted a red heart emoji. Director Edgar Wright, who worked with Davis on "Shaun of the Dead," wrote, "Love you Lucy. Always. See you very soon." Kiernan Shipka, an actress from "Chilling Adventures of Sabrina," also sent a message of love.

Davis' father, comedian Jasper Carrott, expressed pride in his daughter's resilience, stating, "We are so proud of our daughter and love her so much. The way she has conducted herself through many traumatic health issues is a lesson to us all."
