Country music artist Jelly Roll posted photos Monday showing a markedly slimmer figure after losing more than 200 pounds, sharing images from his performance at the Grace for the World concert in Vatican City and noting he can now wear designer labels.
"I can fit in Louis Vuitton now. Pray for my bank account," Jason Bradley DeFord, known professionally as Jelly Roll, wrote on Instagram alongside snaps of himself in the designer brand after the concert. The 40-year-old thanked "the legend Skateboard P, his team, and everyone else that had a hand in making last night happen." Fellow artists and friends responded in the comments, with rapper Fat Joe writing, "You look amazing," and Machine Gun Kelly reacting with clapping emojis. His wife, Alisa DeFord — who performs as Bunnie Xo — commented, "The hunkiest hunk of them all 😍."
DeFord has been public about long-term struggles with obesity and substance abuse. In 2018 he said he once weighed about 500 pounds. He began a concerted weight-loss effort in 2022 and reached a 100-pound loss by October 2024, a milestone he celebrated on his "Beautifully Broken" tour. Since then his total weight loss has exceeded 200 pounds, according to the timeline he and his team have shared.
Nutrition coach Ian Larios, who has worked with DeFord on tour, outlined some of the singer's dietary and fitness adjustments, including removing batter and excess oil from favorite foods and increasing movement between shows by walking arenas, playing basketball and boxing. The changes accompanied DeFord's broader recovery efforts; he has spoken publicly about overcoming addiction and substance abuse.
The transformation has been visible onstage. DeFord joined Post Malone on the "BIG ASS Stadium Tour" that ran from April through July, and the pair performed together at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards on Sept. 7, where his slimmer physique drew attention. The two are also scheduled to tour together again in 2026.
DeFord temporarily stepped away from social media in April 2024 after saying he had been "bullied" online about his weight; his wife later told followers the comments had hurt him. He has since resumed posting updates about his career and health. During a mid-tour Instagram message after the 100-pound milestone, DeFord told fans, "Next year, when you all see me, you won't recognize me," and pledged to continue strength training.
DeFord's recent Vatican appearance was part of the Grace for the World concert, an event that included multiple performers. He used his Instagram post to both celebrate the milestone of fitting into luxury clothing and to extend gratitude to the team behind the show. Comments from peers and supporters highlighted the public response to his physical change, while DeFord continues to promote music and tour dates as part of his ongoing career resurgence.
