Jared Leto has been described as "horrible" to work with by a former colleague, who also alleged that the musician has "no soul behind his eyes."
These claims emerge following the release of the BBC documentary "Jared Leto: Hollywood’s Dark Secret," which details accusations of sexual misconduct by 10 women. The former colleague, who toured with the Thirty Seconds to Mars frontman, told Page Six that Leto created a "horrible vibe" and made people uncomfortable, stating, "It was really hard to talk to him, if he even tried to talk to us."
The insider also alleged that Leto made unusual demands of his crew, such as asking assistants to "hold open doors and his cape." The source added that Leto has a "problematic" history with women, suggesting, "Everyone in the music industry knows there was going to be a day of reckoning for him."
The BBC documentary includes accounts from four women who used pseudonyms—Clara, Alex, Isabel, and Etta—claiming the alleged incidents occurred between 2002 and 2016, when they were teenagers. "Isabel" alleged Leto assaulted her in a motel bathroom in 2002 when she was 17. "Clara" claimed she had intercourse with Leto when she was 17. "Alex" accused the singer of allegedly threatening to sexually assault her in a hotel room in 2013. "Etta" alleged Leto groomed her when she was 16 and made explicit phone calls to her in 2014 before attempting to have her sign a non-disclosure agreement two years later, which she refused. The BBC reported that it reviewed the alleged NDA and other documents supporting the claims.
Six other women and two unidentified men who worked with Thirty Seconds to Mars also spoke out in the documentary. They claimed staff members were uncomfortable with Leto’s interactions with teenage girls, alleging he would often invite them backstage or to his recording space.
Leto, 54, has vehemently denied all allegations made in the documentary. In a statement to Page Six, he called the claims "absolutely and categorically false" and stated, "I have never sexually assaulted anyone in my entire life."
These new allegations come less than a year after Leto was accused of sexual impropriety by nine women in an Air Mail exposé, claims he also "expressly denied" at the time. !
