Jamie Oliver is stepping away from the culinary world to star in a new microdrama comedy series titled "Finding Jamie While He's Finding Himself." The series sees the TV chef grapple with an existential crisis, exploring various wellness and spiritual trends, including a stint in a naked woodland cult.

Directed by Bafta-nominee Tom Kingsley, known for "Ghosts" and "Stath Lets Flats," the five-part series begins with Oliver experiencing a crisis after fearing he has exhausted chicken recipes, having developed 400. The show incorporates references to his 1999 "Naked Chef" debut and his past campaign against Turkey Twizzlers.

Oliver's wife, Jools, and their 15-year-old son, Buddy, are featured in the series, monitoring his journey through the Life360 app. Comedian Will Hislop plays Oliver's life coach in the comedy.

"Finding Jamie While He's Finding Himself" is a social-first comedy series, with episodes ranging from one to three minutes in length. They are scheduled for weekly release on Oliver's social media channels. The project coincides with Oliver becoming a brand ambassador.

Jools Oliver had previously hinted at the series on social media, sharing a photograph of her husband looking dishevelled, standing barefoot outdoors in a dressing gown next to a sign indicating a clothing-free zone. She captioned the image, "Not my usual Jamie… and then a new life coach?."

Episodes of the microdrama will be released weekly on Jamie Oliver's social media channels.

The series explores trends such as regression hypnosis and floatation tanks as Oliver's character seeks enlightenment. His family's use of the Life360 app to track him provides a narrative thread, highlighting the contrast between his quest and their monitoring.

The series begins with Jamie Oliver's character in an existential crisis.

Jamie and Jools Oliver, who married in 2000, celebrated their 26th wedding anniversary in June. The couple has renewed their vows multiple times, including in the Maldives in 2023 and in Las Vegas in 2024.
