Kimberly Van Der Beek, widow of actor James Van Der Beek, shared a touching tribute on what would have been their 16th wedding anniversary. She posted a series of photos on Instagram, including selfies with her late husband and a picture of him with their six children.
"16 years ago I was the luckiest woman in the world to marry @vanderjames," Kimberly wrote in her post. "The beauty of this marriage continues to unfold everyday with all these incredible children we have."
James Van Der Beek, known for his role in "Dawson's Creek," died in February at age 48 after a battle with colorectal cancer. He and Kimberly were married on August 1, 2010, and had six children together: Olivia, Joshua, Annabel, Emilia, Gwendolyn, and Jeremiah.
Kimberly, 44, has continued to honor her husband since his passing. In a previous post, she shared throwback pictures and wrote, "Baby, love does not die. Death does not part." She also posted a tribute on the first Father's Day since his death, noting his continued presence and guidance.
In May, three months after Van Der Beek's death, Kimberly acknowledged her grief, stating, "To say I’m heartbroken is a severe understatement." She expressed gratitude for the support she had received, adding that she would share more in time.
James Van Der Beek's first wife, Heather McComb, also shared that she was on good terms with the actor. McComb stated that he had given her his blessing when she told him about her upcoming marriage to actor Scott Michael Campbell before his death. She recalled their positive reactions to her news, saying, "They both were so full of love and support and excitement."
"I know that James would want me to celebrate our love, just like he celebrated the love that he had for Kimberly, which was so beautiful," McComb told Us Weekly.
