Singer Jade Thirlwall and Rizzle Kicks musician Jordan Stephens have reportedly ended their six-year relationship, according to a new report. The couple, who lived together and divided their time between homes in London and Margate, are said to have separated earlier this year.
Stephens has removed all photos of Thirlwall from his Instagram account, and Thirlwall has similarly deleted images of Stephens from her page. An insider told The Sun that while the separation was difficult, both are focusing on their work. Friends of the couple are reportedly hoping for a reconciliation, though the situation remains sensitive.
Thirlwall and Stephens notably did not mark their sixth anniversary with a social media post, a departure from their previous custom. Their last public appearance together was at the Brit Awards in February, and they have not been seen publicly since.
In June, Thirlwall alluded to personal experiences influencing her new album, telling Fader, "Whatever I'm going through at the minute, like privately, I'm sort of putting pen to paper. I think this is the exciting phase or the experimental phase, where you don't know what it's going to be yet." This summer, Thirlwall attended her bandmate Perrie Edwards' wedding without Stephens and shared photos from a trip to Sri Lanka at the beginning of the year.
The couple met during lockdown through virtual dates. Thirlwall had previously described the experience of finding love during the pandemic as "strange," telling Metro's Guilty Pleasures column that she enjoyed getting to know someone through real dates rather than actively seeking a relationship at the time. She emphasized the importance of having a supportive partner, feeling she and Stephens were a "good match."
Thirlwall previously dated Jed Elliott for three years before their separation in July of the preceding year. Stephens is known as one half of the pop duo Rizzle Kicks, which was active from 2008 to 2016 before a hiatus until 2024. He also contributed to Thirlwall's debut album, "That's Showbiz Baby!," released last year, with Thirlwall noting their collaborative musical efforts, including his backing vocals on her song "Headache."
