Jacob Elordi and ex-girlfriend Olivia Jade Giannulli sparked reunion rumors Monday at the Toronto International Film Festival when Giannulli attended the premiere of Elordi’s new film, Frankenstein.
Giannulli waited while Elordi completed his red carpet duties before joining him at the Princess of Wales Theatre. In video shared on social media, Elordi appears to hold the train of Giannulli’s gown as they ascended a staircase together. The pair did not pose for photos together on the red carpet.
Giannulli, 25, wore a plunging white gown with pointed-toe white heels and black sunglasses; her hair was parted in the middle and styled straight. Elordi, 28, arrived in a navy suit accented by a red pocket square. Frankenstein, directed by Guillermo del Toro and starring Elordi, is scheduled to arrive on Netflix Nov. 7.
The appearance came about a month after the couple announced their split. Elordi and Giannulli were together on and off for roughly four years before ending the relationship in August. During their time together they generally avoided public displays of affection on official red carpets and did not publicly confirm the relationship on social media, though they were photographed together on vacations in Italy in 2023 and 2024.
Reports over the summer suggested the relationship had been strained. A person familiar with the situation told a publication that Giannulli had moved to Paris in part to seek a change of scenery, and that the move contributed to tensions. Last month Giannulli shared a post about managing her mental health after the split, saying she had been using therapy to confront nerves and emotional change.
Giannulli has recently been the subject of other relationship speculation. Last week she was seen dining with actor Glen Powell at an upscale Italian restaurant in New York City, a sighting that prompted renewed rumor about her dating life.
The actress’s family history has continued to draw public attention. In 2019 federal prosecutors named Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli among parents charged in the college admissions investigation known as Operation Varsity Blues. Authorities alleged payments were made to secure college placements for their daughters; the case was widely reported at the time and Giannulli addressed it publicly in 2020.
Elordi’s past relationships have also been noted in coverage of his Toronto appearance. He dated model Kaia Gerber in 2021, and Giannulli was the first person he was publicly linked to after that split.
Representatives for Elordi and Giannulli did not immediately respond to requests for comment. Neither actor offered details about their relationship at the festival, and no announcement of a reconciliation had been made following Monday’s appearance.
Frankenstein’s Toronto screening was one of the higher-profile events at the festival and will lead into the film’s wider release on Netflix in November.
