Jaclyn Smith, an icon of "Charlie's Angels," has shared a personal anecdote from her time on the show, revealing that her co-star Tanya Roberts once propositioned her for a threesome with Roberts and her husband.

In her recently released memoir, "I Once Knew a Guy Named Charlie," Smith recounts Roberts' open marriage and her candor about sexuality. "Tanya wasn’t shy about it in the least, or about propositioning people to ‘swing’ with them," Smith wrote, as reported by People.

Smith detailed a specific instance during a flight to Hawaii where Roberts invited her to join her and her husband, Barry Roberts, for a threesome. Smith declined the offer. Despite the proposition, Smith expressed admiration for Roberts' openness, describing her "honesty about her sexuality" as "brave and self-aware."

Smith, 80, developed a close friendship with Roberts after Roberts joined "Charlie's Angels" in its final season as Julie Rogers. The series, which aired from 1976 to 1981, followed three female private investigators working for a millionaire named Charlie Townsend. Smith was the only cast member to star in all five seasons, playing Kelly Garrett. She initially worked alongside Farrah Fawcett and Kate Jackson.

Fawcett departed after one season, replaced by Cheryl Ladd, while Jackson left in 1979 and was succeeded by Shelley Hack, who was later replaced by Roberts. Roberts passed away in January 2021 at the age of 65 from sepsis, following a severe urinary tract infection. At the time of her death, Smith posted a tribute on social media, remembering the "joy" Roberts brought to many through her role.

Smith also addressed drug use on the set of "Charlie's Angels" in her memoir, stating that she retreated to her motor home when she observed extensive drug use. She clarified that she never used cocaine and never would, having witnessed its negative effects on others. Despite the challenges, Smith wrote that her bond with original co-stars Fawcett and Jackson remained strong, emphasizing the enduring "sisterhood."
