Jack Antonoff, frontman for the band Bleachers, reportedly explained his then-estranged wife Margaret Qualley's absence from Taylor Swift's wedding by citing a "tiff" they had during their secret separation. Antonoff was overheard discussing the situation with friends at the Madison Square Garden ceremony.

"Jack didn’t want to put up a facade at Taylor’s wedding when they’re having trouble," an insider told the Daily Mail. Antonoff attended the wedding and its preceding rehearsal dinner with his sister, Rachel Antonoff.

The wedding, which had over 1,000 guests, was a high-profile event. Qualley's absence raised questions, particularly as rumors that she was too busy filming to attend were reportedly dismissed. Qualley had recently wrapped filming for "King Snake" and had not yet begun "Possession."

Speculation about the couple's relationship was further fueled by Qualley's social media activity. She reportedly changed her Instagram name from "Isimo," a song by Antonoff, and removed photos of him from her account. Antonoff, who married Qualley in August 2023, also removed a song about her from his band's tour setlist in June.

Page Six confirmed the couple's separation on Wednesday, after approximately five years together. Sources indicated that communication had been a challenge in their relationship, with one insider stating, "Jack could be very particular about how he liked things… and Margaret didn't always feel like her perspective was being heard or given the same weight."

Antonoff had previously spoken positively about their relationship. In an April interview on "The Howard Stern Show," he said he knew Qualley was "The One" the moment they met at a 2021 party. Two months later, he told "Today" that he "love[s] being married."

Antonoff was seen wearing his wedding ring when photographed in Brooklyn with his sister on Wednesday.
