Thousands gathered in Curaçao for the annual North Sea Jazz Festival, where international artists like J Balvin, Sean Paul, and Jon Batiste took to the stage. The three-day festival, which kicked off on September 3 with Cuban duo Gente de Zona, showcased a wide range of musical talent against the backdrop of the Caribbean island.

Latin superstar J Balvin delivered a high-energy performance, featuring over a dozen of his hits and multiple outfit changes, drawing comparisons to major music festivals. During his set, Balvin brought out collaborator Ryan Castro, a Colombian singer who shared his past struggles as an aspiring musician in Curaçao. The festival also featured performances from Jon Batiste, Stephen Marley, and Afro-Caribbean group Kassav, who closed out the event.

The festival's second night saw reggae artist Sean Paul headline, performing hits such as "Get Busy" and "Gimme the Light." Other notable performers on that night included The Jackson 5, salsa singer Ruben Blades, and the American rock band Toto.

Festival Incidents and Amenities

During Gente de Zona's performance, lead singer Alexander Delgado paused the show for eight minutes to allow medical staff to attend to a fan who had become faint due to the heat. Vendors were present around the festival grounds selling water and other beverages to help attendees stay hydrated throughout the weekend.

The Curaçao North Sea Jazz Festival, established in 2010, has a history of attracting prominent artists, including Prince, Stevie Wonder, Snoop Dogg, Christina Aguilera, Alicia Keys, and Sting.
