An exclusive clip from Apple TV+’s sci-fi series Invasion shows Navy SEAL operator Trevante Cole insisting the extraterrestrials are preparing another assault on Earth.
In the preview for Episode 4 of Season 3, which was published ahead of the episode's Friday release, Cole (Shamier Anderson) speaks with World Defense Coalition leader Jack Hollander (Eric Lange) and hacker Mitsuki Yamato (Shioli Kutsuna) after being detained by the WDC. Cole, still unsettled by the death of his friend Caspar Morrow (Billy Barratt) and by his own time aboard a mothership, tells the two that fractured memories and premonitions are pointing to a coordinated threat.
In the clip, Cole describes how two separate stimuli produced matching patterns: his first memory surfaced when he observed Caspar’s EEG at the moment of death; the second came when he heard a frequency from a portal after being expelled from the alien vessel. "Look, my first memory was sparked when I saw Caspar’s EEG when he died," Cole says. "This second was when I heard the frequency from the portal when I got spit out."
Cole tells Hollander and Yamato, "They’re connected." When Yamato asks, "Connected?", Cole replies, "Yes, connected. Caspar’s EEG, the pattern…it’s the same as the frequency from the portal. It just means something." He later states bluntly, "Those things killed Caspar, okay? They killed him and they’re not done," and adds ominously, "Whatever happened is just the beginning."
The exchange underscores Cole’s deteriorated mental state following trauma and exposure to alien technology. The clip also advances a plotline that has increasingly focused on how human neural activity and alien signals may intersect, and it highlights Yamato’s role after she reportedly breached a WDC secure server.
Invasion premiered in 2021 and has been a flagship science-fiction entry for Apple TV+. Season 3 continues to unfold weekly; Episode 4 is scheduled to stream Friday, Sept. 12 on Apple TV+. The series has drawn attention for its global scope, multiple interlocking storylines and its depiction of ordinary people and military personnel responding to an extraterrestrial event.
The scene further positions the World Defense Coalition as a central authority attempting to assess and contain the threat, even as individual survivors like Cole bring firsthand—but often fragmented—accounts that complicate the WDC’s understanding. The clip offers few concrete answers about the aliens' objectives, focusing instead on the potentially consequential pattern Cole believes he has identified.
Episode 4 follows several threads already established in Season 3, including investigations into the portal phenomena and the personal consequences for characters who encountered the alien craft. Viewers will be able to stream the episode on Apple TV+ on Sept. 12. The exclusive clip was published online by Decider ahead of the episode’s release.
