Australian influencer Matilda Baxter, 23, has publicly addressed criticism surrounding her extensive plastic surgery, including a "Barbie waist" procedure. Baxter, who has 962,000 Instagram followers, shared a video on Tuesday pushing back against online comments that deemed her "unrecognisable" and drew comparisons to Holocaust survivors.
"If you have to put me through a group chat to talk s**t about how different I look, saying that I look like a Holocaust survivor with bolt-ons, then you are the lowest of the low," Baxter stated in the video. She asserted that individuals have the right to change their appearance and that negative attention ultimately benefits her financially. "The negativity only brings money towards me," she said.
Baxter displayed photos of her appearance before undergoing what she estimates to be $50,000 to $100,000 worth of cosmetic procedures. She expressed satisfaction with her current look and the attention it garners. "If I'm being talked about in your group chat, clearly I've won the game," she concluded.
The influencer has also faced concern from followers about her slimmed-down physique, with some commenting on her visible ribs and urging her to eat more.
Baxter's past admissions include seeking counseling for a "tanning addiction," which involves using a home solarium four times a week in conjunction with tanning peptides. The Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) has warned about potential serious health problems associated with such peptides. Baxter has openly discussed her surgical history, which includes liposuction, a breast augmentation, hip surgery, and the "Barbie waist" operation. She estimated her annual upkeep costs for her appearance at $80,000 to $100,000.
