Howard Stern's SiriusXM show is set to return for a new season on September 14, with episodes becoming available to stream on HBO Max for the first time. Sirius confirmed the details of Stern's new deal with HBO Max in a press release.
The agreement will bring Stern's live SiriusXM show to HBO Max as adapted, streamable episodes, along with periodic extra content. The show, which first debuted on Sirius in 2006, will begin airing episodes on HBO Max on September 17, with new installments released every Thursday. Approximately 40 cameras will capture the live conversations on SiriusXM to create the streamable version for HBO Max.
Scott Greenstein, SiriusXM's President and Chief Content Officer, stated that Stern continues to evolve and surprise audiences, delivering unique conversations. He added that SiriusXM is proud Stern chose to continue with the platform through 2028 for his exclusive live show and extensive library of classic content, and that this new partnership with HBO Max creates a compelling video version of his program.
Additionally, Stern's Howard 100 channel on SiriusXM will feature a new lineup, including an expanded "Wrap Up Show" hosted by Gary Dell'Abate and Jon Hein. The deal also promises new ways for listeners to access his multi-decade archive of past shows. This development follows recent news of layoffs and the discontinuation of Stern's Howard 101 SiriusXM channel earlier in the summer.
