Holly Willoughby recounted an embarrassing wardrobe malfunction from her early career on children's television during a recent episode of her YouTube show, "Together." The incident occurred while she was co-hosting the Noughties show "Ministry Of Mayhem" with Stephen Mulhern.
Willoughby, 45, explained that during a skit involving the boyband Blue, she was instructed to dance while wearing a thin camisole. As she performed her dance moves, a strap on her top broke, leading to an accidental exposure.
"I stood up and I was really like going for it and as I looked down, the strap on my top had broken, and my left boob was swinging!" Willoughby shared on the show, which featured guests Emma Bunton and Nicole Appleton. She noted that the show was live and she was aware of the mishap at the time. Following the incident, she recalled an ad break and her immediate reaction upon coming off air.
"I was like: 'tell me you didn't see that!' And they were like: 'We can't. We're not going to lie to you. We did see it,'" Willoughby said. The presenter further revealed that the incident led to her being featured on Page 3 of The Sun newspaper the following day.
This was not the first time Willoughby has spoken about the event. In 2012, she discussed the mishap with the Daily Mirror, describing it as her "most embarrassing moment on TV." At the time, she stated the lesson she learned was to "always wear a sturdy bra."
A Look Back at Iconic Outfits
During the same YouTube episode, Emma Bunton also shared a memorable fashion moment from her own career. Bunton brought out the dress she wore to the 1997 BRIT Awards, a particularly significant event for the Spice Girls. The 1997 ceremony marked Geri Halliwell's appearance in her iconic Union Jack minidress during the band's performance of "Wannabe" and "Who Do You Think You Are."
Willoughby expressed her astonishment at the small size of Bunton's dress, remarking, "I've got knickers bigger than this!" Bunton revealed she keeps a collection of her Baby Spice outfits at her London home. She recalled an instance when Willoughby visited her home and expressed a desire to try on some of the preserved Spice Girls attire.
