HGTV's new home renovation competition show, 'Totally 90's House,' is set to premiere, bringing a wave of nostalgia by featuring beloved television icons from the 1990s.

The show will split celebrities into two teams to find and renovate homes that are stuck in the 90s, with the guidance of HGTV mentors Carter Oosterhouse and Sabrina Soto. The challenge lies in modernizing the spaces while preserving their distinct 1990s aesthetic. Host Jaleel White, also a star from the era, will guide the contestants.

"You each spent the decade of the 90’s in everyone’s living rooms, and now you’re about to completely transform someone else’s," White explained in a sneak peek clip.

The competing teams include Brian Austin Green, Beverley Mitchell, and Jodie Sweetin against Melissa Joan Hart, Matthew Lawrence, and Keshia Knight Pulliam. The competition also incorporates a unique rule: any video captured of the renovation process must be done using 90s-era equipment provided to the teams.

'The 90’s were the golden age of matching furniture,' one graphic noted, as the team of Lawrence, Hart, and Pulliam surveyed their Long Island renovation project. The sneak peek highlighted the houses each team would tackle, offering commentary on their existing decor.

The winning team will receive bragging rights and a $25,000 prize for a charity of their choice. The show will also feature appearances from other HGTV personalities and 90s celebrities, including Drew Lachey, Paige Davis, and Jonathan Adler.

Complementing the main series, HGTV's YouTube channel will launch a companion series titled 'House Call: 90s Edition.' This series will offer viewers a look inside the homes of popular celebrities from the 1990s.

Host Jaleel White commented on the show's premise, stating, "Everybody loves the ‘90s again...The fits are back, the playlists are on repeat, and kids who weren’t even born yet are binge-watching the shows we made famous. But while some things from the ‘90s are timeless…some of y’all never got the memo that the decade ended. We asked America to show us the homes still living in the past, and the response was incredible. Now it’s time for the ultimate throwback transformation. Get ready for the biggest ‘90s house battle ever."

'Totally 90's House' is scheduled to premiere on Wednesday, August 26, at 9 p.m. ET/PT on the HGTV network. Episodes will also be available for streaming on HBO Max the following day.
