Dame Helen Mirren and Pierce Brosnan, who star as the central couple in Guy Ritchie's crime drama "MobLand," shared a friendly embrace at the show's season two premiere afterparty on Thursday night. The cast gathered at the Odeon Luxe in London's Leicester Square to celebrate the new season of the Paramount+ series.

Mirren, 81, and Brosnan, 73, play Conrad and Maeve Harrigan, the power couple at the heart of the criminal organization. Despite their characters facing considerable strain in their relationship and their hold on the business in the upcoming season, the actors showcased their off-screen camaraderie. They were photographed sharing a hug during the event.

The premiere also saw the reunion of other cast members, including Tom Hardy, Joanne Froggatt, and Lara Pulver. Earlier in the evening, Mirren was seen on the red carpet with Hardy, appearing to put to rest rumors of significant on-set tension involving the lead actor during filming.

Mirren, reprising her role as Maeve Harrigan, looked striking in a silver sequined Jenny Packham gown. In contrast, Hardy opted for a more casual ensemble, wearing a white shirt featuring a print of "The Tower of Babel" by Wilhelm von Kaulbach, paired with trousers. Brosnan, playing Maeve's husband Conrad, sported a pinstripe blazer with a spotted shirt.

Lara Pulver donned a strapless yellow dress by Prabal Gurung, while Emmett J. Scanlan appeared in a sheer black top under a blazer. Other notable attendees included Millie Mackintosh, Roxy Horner, Kimberley Garner, and Nadiya Bychkova. Emmett J. Scanlan posed with guests at the bash

Reports of friction between Hardy and production surfaced during the filming of season two, leading to speculation about his future on the show. However, Mirren has publicly defended Hardy, suggesting that artists should be allowed freedom to experiment and make mistakes. She has previously stated her willingness to work with him again.

"MobLand" season two picks up following the events of the first season, with Hardy's character, Harry Da Souza, navigating dangerous factions as he tries to maintain the Harrigan operation. The season explores the internal conflicts within the Harrigan family as they face external rivalries.

Despite the recent controversies, season three is slated to begin production this autumn, with reports indicating that Hardy's character is not written out of the series at the end of season two.
