Call The Midwife star Helen George has spoken publicly for the first time about her recent split from businessman Dan Innes, accusing him of disrespect.

George, 42, and Innes, 52, began dating in March 2025, and he moved into her west London home with her two children at the start of this year. However, their whirlwind romance reportedly ended after seven months of cohabitation.

In an episode of her podcast, Mystic Mates, released on Tuesday, George described the breakup as difficult. "There’s been voice notes, there’s been tears, it's been pretty s**t," she stated. She confirmed that recent events in her love life were weighing on her mind.

Earlier this month, Innes was observed moving his belongings out of George's home, signaling the end of their relationship. A source told The Sun that while their romance was intense, their differences ultimately became apparent, calling it a difficult time for both.

Shortly after the split, George shared several posts on social media that hinted at heartbreak. One post featured her daughter with the caption, "When the chaos leaves, the calm resumes." Another quote she shared read, "I absolutely take responsibility for when I am wrong. But I will never apologise for responding to disrespect. If you lit the match, do not stand in the flames pretending to be the victim."

During her podcast, co-host Yvette Robinson conducted a tarot card reading for George's love life. While Robinson suggested challenges ahead could lead to growth, George responded, "Babe, don't you think I've had enough challenge." Robinson reassured her, stating she felt George was reclaiming her power.

The Daily Mail reported last year that George and Innes met on the dating app Raya. They were seen together on Valentine's Day and Dan Innes had accompanied George to industry events, including a Call The Midwife screening in March.

Innes was previously married and has two children, aged 14 and 12, from his previous relationship, which ended in 2016. George has two daughters with her ex-partner, Jack Ashton.

Prior to her relationship with Innes, George revealed on her podcast that she had dated a man who was diagnosed with leukemia in 2025. She learned of his serious diagnosis the day before she had to fly to the Bahamas to film the ITV series Shark! Celebrity Infested Waters.

George was also previously linked to her Call the Midwife co-star Olly Rix, who played her on-screen husband. Their reported closeness followed their respective splits from long-term partners.
