Actress Hayden Panettiere, known for her roles in the television series "Heroes" and "Nashville," has died at the age of 36, her representatives confirmed Monday.
Panettiere, who began her acting career as a child, also appeared in films such as "Remember the Titans," "Raising Helen," "Ice Princess," and "Scream 4."
Oscar-winning actress Viola Davis, who co-starred with Panettiere in the 2016 film "Custody," remembered her as an "amazing talent" and "so gifted." Davis described Panettiere on social media as "an old, wise soul with such a deep heart," adding, "I wish the world had more time with you because I had a burning curiosity about who you were becoming."
SAG-AFTRA, a union representing performers and broadcasters, shared its condolences, stating, "Our hearts are with her daughter, family, friends & fans."
Panettiere was candid about her struggles with fame from child stardom through adulthood. She released a memoir in May titled "This Is Me: A Reckoning."
She is the mother of one child, daughter Kaya Klitschko, born in 2014, with her ex-fiancé, heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko.
Further details surrounding her death were not immediately available.
