Actress Hayden Panettiere experienced severe health issues in the months preceding her death, including pain that made it difficult for her to move her legs, according to an insider.
Erick Orellana, Panettiere's hairdresser and friend, told Page Six that the "Nashville" star's pain was "really severe" earlier this year and affected her mobility. Panettiere was seen using crutches at LAX airport in March with her boyfriend, Brian Hickerson, suggesting mobility challenges.
Despite these struggles, Orellana noted that Panettiere appeared to be "starting to be on the mend." Another source indicated that Panettiere sometimes seemed tired but attributed it to her being a night owl and having a lot on her plate. This source also mentioned that Panettiere occasionally suffered from anxiety and took medication for it, which could sometimes impact her speech.
Paramedics responded to a 911 call on Sunday at an Airbnb rental in Greenville, South Carolina, where an unidentified female was reportedly in cardiac arrest. The dispatch call indicated an "overdose" and that CPR was in progress. Medics attempted resuscitation, but Panettiere was pronounced dead at 2:32 p.m. at the age of 36.
Law enforcement sources told TMZ that Narcan, an opioid overdose reversal medication, was found at the scene. The Greenville County Coroner's Office stated that there were no signs of foul play or trauma discovered during the autopsy, but the official cause of death is still pending as the investigation remains active.
