Harry Styles paid tribute to Dolly Parton during his Madison Square Garden residency, dedicating a performance to the late country music star. "Dolly, we love you, thank you so much," Styles told the sold-out crowd Wednesday night.
Following his dedication, Parton's signature hit, "I Will Always Love You," began to play. The singer encouraged the audience to sing along, holding up their cell phone lights.
Parton, a 10-time Grammy winner, reportedly died at the age of 80 after a private battle with cancer. Her passing has led to tributes from numerous musicians and celebrities, including her goddaughter Miley Cyrus.
"The feeling of losing my Aunt Dolly is beyond what feels right to share," Cyrus posted on Instagram. "Our most sacred moments were private and they’ll stay there behind the stage, beneath the glamour & between our hearts." Cyrus shared that one of her last conversations with Parton was about "music and metamorphosis."
Other notable figures who honored Parton include Eminem, Beyoncé, and Taylor Swift.
TMZ reported that Parton is slated to be laid to rest in a private family service in Nashville, Tennessee.
