Harper Beckham recently made an unsuccessful attempt to visit her older brother, Brooklyn, at his Los Angeles home, an event that underscores the ongoing rift within the Beckham family. According to Katie Hind, a veteran showbiz editor for the Daily Mail, the situation mirrors the public perception surrounding Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, suggesting that a reconciliation between Brooklyn and his parents, David and Victoria Beckham, may only occur if Brooklyn and his wife, Nicola Peltz, were to separate.

Hind described the current state of the Beckham family dynamics on the "Deep Dive" podcast, noting the absence of a clear peacemaker figure capable of mediating between the estranged parties. She drew a parallel to the speculation that Prince Harry might return to the royal family if he were to split from Meghan.

"I think the other parallel with Harry and Megan is that this public perception that, 'Oh, when Harry and Meghan split up, Harry will come back,' and the same is being said of Brooklyn and Nicola," Hind stated. "'When she dumps him, he'll be back,' you know? He'll be back knocking on their door, and in both couples it will be fascinating to know whether, first of all they split, and what happens when they do. I do wonder whether that is what it will take for Brooklyn to come back."

Harpers's visit occurred on June 12, following her father's Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony. The 14-year-old, accompanied by her parents and siblings Romeo and Cruz, was photographed arriving at Brooklyn's Beverly Hills residence in an SUV. She was reportedly carrying a handwritten letter but left the property shortly after, with sources indicating the couple was out of town. Brooklyn later posted an Instagram story showing him running in New York.

Following the incident, Brooklyn issued a statement suggesting that Harper's visit was orchestrated for the press by his parents. A source close to Brooklyn indicated that while he cares for his sister, he believes continued contact places her in a difficult position with their parents, stating, "Using the kids in your campaigning, this is not a great look for a parent."

Brooklyn, 27, has reportedly had limited contact with his parents since late 2024. In January, he publicly accused them of controlling narratives and attempting to ruin his relationship with Nicola Peltz. He alleged that his parents have exerted control over him for most of his life, leading to significant anxiety that has since subsided since stepping away from the family. He also claimed that his parents pressured him to sign away the rights to his name before his wedding and that his mother had previously described Nicola as "evil" for her choices regarding wedding guests.

Brooklyn has stated that he does not wish to reconcile with his family and is standing up for himself for the first time. He cited instances such as his mother allegedly hijacking his first dance with Nicola at their wedding and his family's refusal to support his wife's efforts to rescue displaced dogs during the Los Angeles fires. He also described being rejected for a week by his father in London, who only agreed to see him on the condition that Nicola was not invited.

Hind mentioned that previous attempts at mediation by individuals like Gordon Ramsay had inadvertently worsened the situation. She also noted that David Beckham's sister, Joanne, who was once close to Brooklyn, has also been estranged. The current dynamic, Hind suggests, sees Victoria and David Beckham finding solace in the relationships their other sons, Romeo and Cruz, have with their respective girlfriends, Jackie Apostle and Kim. "I feel like Victoria's seeking some solace in this, in having them around, but I don't know, I think the hatred will continue on Brooklyn's end," Hind concluded.
