Hannah Waddingham, who portrays Rebecca Welton in the Apple TV+ comedy "Ted Lasso," has offered a glimpse into the upcoming fourth season, hinting at a potential new romantic storyline for her character. Waddingham appeared on "The View" on Friday, where she discussed the show's continuation and teased details about Rebecca's personal life.
Waddingham expressed her enthusiasm for "Ted Lasso" Season 4, noting that the season's direction felt natural given the conclusion of the previous season. She recalled thinking, "How can we not?" continue the series after seeing Keeley (Juno Temple) give Rebecca a "women's team" item at the end of Season 3. The upcoming season is set to feature Ted (Jason Sudeikis) returning to Richmond to coach a second-division women's football team, with the synopsis suggesting the team will learn to "leap before they look."
When asked by "The View" co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin about the possibility of a love story for Rebecca, Waddingham played coy but offered a tantalizing hint. "He's not unattractive," Waddingham quipped, before adding with a smile, "Gotta stay professional, Hannah!"
Waddingham also shared her positive experience returning to her role, describing it as "lovely" to get back into character and put on Rebecca's signature pencil skirts. She lauded the actresses cast as the new women footballers, calling them "absolute gangsters" and "magic."
