In a 2021 interview on her YouTube channel with Yvonne Orji, Bieber stated that she "wouldn't ever want to be shot naked." She discussed how her Christian faith sometimes created complexities in her career, particularly when her work required her to "show skin, or I'll get photographed in underwear or lingerie." At the time, Bieber expressed a personal boundary against nude photoshoots, though she acknowledged and respected other women's comfort levels with such work.
Despite her past comments, Bieber's recent cover for ICE Magazine features her nude, a decision that contrasts with her previously stated position. The magazine's Brazil issue also includes interior shots where Bieber is seen in a bikini and a sheer bra top.
Bieber's mother, Kennya Deodato, is Brazilian, and her maternal grandfather is the legendary Brazilian musician and record producer Eumir Deodato. ICE Magazine noted that a portion of each magazine sale will support the Center for Immigrant and Refugee Women in São Paulo, with Bieber agreeing to match the donation.
