Hailey Bieber is featured on the cover of ICE Magazine’s Brazil Issue, released Tuesday, posing nude and strategically adorned only with tan lines.
The Rhode founder, 29, celebrated her Brazilian heritage for the cover, lounging nude while holding a can of the local beverage Guaraná Antarctica. The photographic series, shot in Rio de Janeiro, pays tribute to her roots. Bieber’s mother was born in Rio, and her maternal grandfather is Grammy-winning composer Eumir Deodato.
Photographer Renell Medrano, a longtime friend of Bieber, captured the images. Inside the magazine, Bieber also wears a pink and yellow tape bikini, a reference to a Brazilian sunbathing practice used to create sharp tan lines. Another image shows her in a sheer yellow bra with a celestial headpiece.
Bieber previously expressed reservations about full nudity in photoshoots. In a 2021 conversation, she told Yvonne Orji she would not want to be photographed unclothed. However, she attributed her willingness to pose for ICE Magazine to her decade-plus friendship with Medrano. "I would never have done that, shown that much, with anybody else but her," Bieber stated, adding that she trusts Medrano to push her creatively and help her be seen in different ways.
Bieber also credited the women in her family for helping her embrace herself. "Watching the woman who’s raising you be really comfortable in her body is something I’m very grateful for," she said.
This is Bieber’s second notable cover appearance in quick succession. She and her husband, Justin Bieber, were featured on the inaugural issue of WYouth magazine, sharing intimate photos that included them kissing. A portion of the proceeds from ICE Magazine sales will be donated to the Center for Immigrant and Refugee Women in São Paulo, with Bieber matching the total contribution.
