Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay has officially opened The Carnaby, a new British-inspired restaurant located in Anaheim's Downtown Disney.
The restaurant, situated above the Earl of Sandwich shop, aims to bring a London dining experience to Southern California. Inspired by the iconic Carnaby Street of the 1960s, the venue features vibrant artwork, a mural, and music from the era. The space can accommodate approximately 175 guests and includes indoor dining, private event areas, and an outdoor terrace.
The menu showcases Ramsay’s signature dishes, such as Beef Wellington, Fish & Chips with triple-cooked fries, and Sticky Toffee Pudding. Traditional British comfort foods like Bangers & Mash and Cottage Pie are also available, alongside globally influenced options like Branzino, Chicken Milanese, and Chickpea Tikka Masala. For a more casual option, the Carnaby Wagyu Burger is offered, topped with smoked cheddar, bacon, lettuce, and truffle aioli.
A tableside Prime Rib Cart service is one of the restaurant’s featured experiences, offering hand-carved slices served with Yorkshire pudding, roasted vegetables, and au jus. The beverage menu includes specialty cocktails like the Passionfruit Royale and Cherry Baby, as well as wine and beer selections.
Ramsay noted that his children are his initial taste-testers for new dishes, and he believes their positive reactions indicate a dish's potential success. "When you see them devouring it within seconds we know it’s going to be a hit at The Carnaby," he said.
The restaurant also provides a children's menu with familiar favorites, including cheeseburgers, grilled cheese sandwiches, chicken tenders, and mac and cheese.
Ramsay expressed his long-held desire to open a restaurant at Downtown Disney, citing its unique atmosphere and history. "Downtown Disney has always been a dream," he stated.
The Carnaby is currently serving dinner nightly from 4:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. during its soft-opening phase. Breakfast and lunch service are planned to be introduced in the coming months. Reservations are being accepted via OpenTable.
