Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay has revealed he is "secretly petrified" to become a grandfather for the first time, following his daughter Holly's pregnancy announcement last week. Ramsay, 56, shared his anxieties during an episode of the Netflix show "The Rest Is Football," co-hosted with Gary Lineker.
"I am secretly petrified because until they can talk and communicate with you, you can't do much, we're not going to f***ing breastfeed, are we?" Ramsay stated, reflecting on the prospect of welcoming a grandchild. Despite his nervousness, he also conveyed excitement about the impending arrival.
Holly Ramsay announced on Saturday that she is expecting a baby girl with her husband, Adam Peaty. The child is due in December. Ramsay, who has six children with his wife Tana, shared his delight in the comments of Holly's pregnancy announcement, writing, "Congratulations to you both sending lots of love Dad ❤️. I'm going to be a very overexcited Grandad especially this Christmas @hollyramsaypeaty @adamramsaypeaty."
Holly's sister, Tilly, also expressed her joy, calling it the "best news ever."
The Ramsay family includes Megan, 27, twins Jack and Holly, 26, Tilly, 24, Oscar, 6, and Jesse James, 2. Holly Ramsay announced her pregnancy alongside a photo of herself and Adam, showcasing her baby bump. She captioned the post, "Baby Ramsay-Peaty coming December 2026. We can't wait to meet our baby girl."
The couple married on December 27, 2025, at Bath Abbey, followed by a reception at Kin House. However, Adam Peaty has been reportedly estranged from his family. In November, it was revealed that he had banned his mother, Caroline, and father, Mark, from attending his wedding to Holly due to an ongoing feud.
Gordon Ramsay has previously defended the family's situation, referring to the Peaty family issues as "self-inflicted from their side." He recounted instances where his family extended invitations, including sending a chauffeur for engagement party guests, and expressed that the subsequent negative press was hurtful to him and his wife Tana.
During his wedding speech, Ramsay commented on his daughter's beauty and reportedly told Adam, "Look at Tana and that's what you have to look forward to," adding, "Shame you don't have the same." This remark was later reported to have deeply upset Adam Peaty's mother, Caroline, who allegedly felt it was a cruel and pre-planned jab at her family's absence.
