Content creator Good Good Golf has removed a promotional video for a Callaway driver after facing widespread criticism on social media for depicting violence against women. The commercial, which was shared on the company's official channels, showed Garrett Clark, a member of Good Good Golf, shoving Alexis Miestowski to the ground and stating, “Do not touch my new driver.”
The video was deleted late Friday, and Callaway Golf, which partnered with Good Good in 2023, has not yet issued a statement. Clips of the ad continued to circulate on social media platforms following its removal.
The incident sparked outrage within the golf community. Golf Digest reporter Christopher Powers commented on X, formerly Twitter, questioning the decision-making process that allowed the ad to be produced. Skratch's Claire Rogers expressed concern, stating, “This is very scary tbh. Not to make it into this Big Thing but what on earth are young girls supposed to think when they see something like this.”
Good Good Golf, which began as a YouTube channel in 2020, has grown into one of the largest content creators in golf. The group features a roster of male and female creators who participate in golf-related content and challenges. The company also produces made-for-TV shows, apparel, and other merchandise.
On Saturday, Good Good Golf issued an apology on social media, acknowledging that the deleted video depicted actions contrary to the brand's values. "We have since taken that content down, and sincerely apologize," the statement read. "Good Good has always stood for making the game of golf more inclusive to all, and we will continue to ensure that is our mission going forward."
