The masked antagonist from the "Scary Movie" franchise, known as Ghostface, has established an OnlyFans account as part of a promotional campaign for the series' latest installment. The move, described as a marketing stunt, features Ghostface in a promotional video with original "Scary Movie" star Carmen Electra.
In the video, Electra, who is an established OnlyFans creator, appears to offer Ghostface guidance on producing adult content. The promotional material includes scenes where Electra directs a photoshoot with the character. Ghostface's OnlyFans page humorously notes a "high body count" but states it will not feature "foot stuff."
This initiative coincides with the digital release of the sixth "Scary Movie" film, which premiered in theaters in June and achieved significant box office success, grossing $230 million. The sixth film marked the return of original cast members Anna Faris and Regina Hall, and was written and produced by the Wayans Brothers.
Anna Faris, who reprised her role as Cindy Campbell, had previously expressed that she felt her career might be nearing its end before being asked to return to the franchise. Her recent film work has primarily been in television, including a role on the CBS sitcom "Mom," which she departed in 2020, and voice acting for "The Simpsons."
Meanwhile, the original "Scream" franchise, which inspired "Scary Movie," also saw recent success with "Scream 7," released in February. This installment grossed $214 million, becoming the highest-grossing film in its series. "Scream 7" featured the return of Neve Campbell, who had not appeared in the sixth film due to a contract dispute. Despite its financial performance, "Scream 7" received a 30% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, making it the lowest-rated film in the "Scream" series to date. An eighth "Scream" film is reportedly in development, with Campbell expected to reprise her role, though this has not been officially confirmed.
