Geri Halliwell-Horner and her husband, Christian Horner, were among the VIPs on Sunday at the Cornbury House Horse Trials in Oxfordshire, attending the four-day equestrian event days after Red Bull confirmed Horner had been released from his operational duties.

The pair were photographed smiling as they watched dressage, cross-country and show-jumping competitions at the event, which runs from Sept. 10 to 14 and showcases young horses and riders. Halliwell-Horner, 53, wore a sheer turtleneck sweater with a vest, skinny jeans, a nude trench coat, brown leather knee-high boots and a tan fedora. Horner, 51, wore a brown suede coach jacket, a white shirt and light grey chinos.

Also in attendance were former prime minister David Cameron and his wife, Samantha Cameron, who wore a sage-green trench coat and a long navy skirt, and equestrian Zara Tindall, who was seen in a tan sweater after competing. The Cornbury gathering drew a mix of public figures and members of the equestrian community for the sport’s competitive rounds.

Red Bull confirmed on July 9, 2025, that Horner had been "released from his operational duties" and that Laurent Mekies had been appointed chief executive of Red Bull Racing. The announcement came about a year after allegations relating to messages Horner allegedly sent to a Red Bull employee were leaked to a number of people in the sport. Horner has denied the claims.

Two internal investigations previously cleared Horner of wrongdoing, and his clearance was upheld after the complainant appealed. An independent lawyer is reported to have interviewed Horner for close to nine hours. The alleged messages were circulated privately to nearly 200 individuals connected to the sport, including media and team figures, according to reporting on the matter.

The episode received renewed public attention after footage in Netflix’s Drive to Survive showed Horner reflecting on the fallout. In the series he said, "The higher you rise, the sharper the knives," and described the period as an unexpected challenge in his career.

Halliwell-Horner has publicly supported her husband throughout the controversy. The couple’s appearance at Cornbury was the first high-profile outing photographed since the Red Bull announcement.

Separately, reporting has noted financial difficulties at Halliwell-Horner’s book company, Falcon Queen Productions, which showed a deficit in the year ending August 2024. Her main company, Wonderful Productions, continued to report income from music and commercial deals.

Red Bull’s July statement confirming Horner’s operational release and Mekies’s appointment did not link the personnel change to any finding of misconduct. Horner has maintained his denial of the allegations throughout the investigations and subsequent reporting.
