Geri Halliwell-Horner and her husband, Christian Horner, were among the VIPs at the Cornbury House Horse Trials in Oxfordshire on Sunday, a public outing that came after Red Bull announced Horner had been released from his operational duties earlier this summer.

The pair arrived together and were photographed smiling as they watched dressage, cross-country and show-jumping competitions. Halliwell-Horner, 53, wore a sheer white turtleneck with a vest, skinny jeans, a nude trench coat, brown leather knee-high boots and a tan fedora. Horner, 51, wore a brown suede coach jacket over a white shirt and light grey chinos. The Cornbury House Horse Trials run from Sept. 10 to 14 and showcase young horses and riders from across the country.

Red Bull confirmed on July 9, 2025, that it had "released Christian Horner from his operational duties with effect from today" and appointed Laurent Mekies as chief executive officer of Red Bull Racing. The move came about a year after allegations concerning WhatsApp messages and other material involving Horner and a female employee surfaced in the Formula One paddock. Horner has denied wrongdoing.

Several investigations followed the accusations. External inquiries and subsequent reviews reportedly cleared Horner of the allegations; media reports say a file containing the contested messages and images was leaked to almost 200 people connected to the sport, including owners and media. An independent lawyer is reported to have interviewed Horner for several hours during the inquiries. Netflix’s Drive to Survive series recently aired Horner’s reaction to the leak, in which he said: "The higher you rise, the sharper the knives," and described the episode as an unexpected career challenge.

Halliwell-Horner publicly supported her husband during the controversy. Press reports said she urged him to confront the situation, a dynamic that played out over months while the investigations proceeded. Horner remained a prominent public figure during the period as questions over leadership and governance in the team were debated across the paddock.

Other notable attendees at Sunday’s event included former prime minister David Cameron and his wife, Samantha Cameron, and equestrian Zara Tindall. Samantha Cameron wore a sage green trench coat with a long navy skirt and a patterned sweater, while Tindall, an experienced rider, was pictured in a tan sweater after participating in riding that day.

The appearance follows a difficult period for the couple beyond Horner’s professional situation. Media reports have also detailed financial figures linked to Halliwell-Horner’s book company, Falcon Queen Productions, which The Mirror reported had a deficit of about £750,000 in the year ending August 2024, up from around £276,000 the previous year. The report said the company published Halliwell-Horner’s children’s books Rosie Frost and the Falcon Queen and Rosie Frost: Ice On Fire. Her main company, Wonderful Productions, which was established in 1997, is reported to have earned £2.16 million in the 12 months to August 2024. Representatives for Halliwell-Horner did not immediately respond to requests for comment, according to press accounts.

Red Bull’s July statement formally shifted Horner out of day-to-day responsibilities at the team and named Mekies as the new chief executive of Red Bull Racing. The sporting and commercial fallout from the allegations and the subsequent personnel changes has continued to draw attention in motorsport coverage since the initial reports and the team's internal and external reviews.
