Geordie Shore star Marnie Simpson has drawn criticism after posting a video on Instagram featuring her 6-year-old son, Rox, miming the expletive "fucking." The clip, shared on Wednesday, showed Simpson and Rox lip-syncing to a track, with Simpson mouthing "We're back baby" and Rox following with "We're fucking back."
While intended as lighthearted entertainment, the video prompted negative reactions in the comments section. Some users expressed disapproval, with comments including "Hate to see kids swearing" and "Oh noooo isn’t he only 6 years old." Another user simply commented "gross."
Simpson, 34, is married to Casey Johnson and they have three children together: Rox, Oax (three), and Kixee Moon (nearly one).
This incident occurs amidst reports that Simpson may have quit Geordie Shore. In May, it was suggested that several cast members, including Simpson, James Tindale, Abbie Holborn, and Chloe Ferry, would not be returning for the series' 28th season. This followed an alleged ultimatum from producers requiring cast members to accept a pay cut and reduced screen time in exchange for continuing their roles. According to The Sun, only six cast members were confirmed to return, with others reportedly facing a choice to agree to appear in six episodes instead of ten, or leave the show. Sources suggested this situation has created division among the cast, with some speculating that the cost-cutting measures are to fund the return of original cast members like Gaz Beadle and Aaron Chalmers.
