Gemma Collins, the former star of ITVBe's TOWIE, has announced a temporary break from social media platform Instagram. The announcement was made Tuesday, with Collins stating that any posts during her absence would be managed by her team. She is set to return to social media in September.

Collins shared the news alongside a photograph of herself dressed in a crystal headband and a gold sequin wrap dress, styled as a "Greek goddess." She also referenced her 3.5 stone weight loss in the post.

"The summer holiday season is here, and I just wanted to wish everyone the most beautiful summer," Collins wrote to her followers. She encouraged her audience to "put the phone down now and then, soak up the sunsets, share long lunches, and enjoy those spontaneous moments." She concluded her message by wishing everyone a "wonderful summer break" and reminding them to "stay safe, and make every moment count."

Her social media break coincides with the upcoming release of her new docu-series on Sky TV, titled "Gemma Collins: Four Weddings and a Baby." Collins stated that the show has been in production for over a year and that she is eager to share its contents. The eight-part series will document her IVF journey and wedding preparations with fiancé Rami Hawash.

"This really is the most important year of my life, and for the first time people will get to see the Gemma behind the GC," Collins said of the new series. "Over the next year I will be planning my wedding and beginning the steps into starting a family." She expressed a desire to share the "real raw me" and the "most intimate and personal times in my life."

Collins, who first gained fame on TOWIE in 2011, has a long history in reality television. Her previous television appearances include "Splash!," "I'm A Celebrity," "Celebrity Big Brother," "Celebs Go Dating," "Celebrity MasterChef," and "Dancing On Ice." She also had her own documentary, "Gemma Collins: Self-Harm & Me," in 2022, and starred in "Gemma Collins: Diva" from 2018 to 2020.

Collins and Hawash first became a couple in 2011, became engaged two years later, separated, and then rekindled their relationship in 2020. The upcoming series will explore her journey toward starting a family and her wedding plans.
