Gemma Chan made a notable appearance at a screening for her new film, "Josephine," in London, accompanied by her partner Dominic Cooper. The 43-year-old actress showcased a striking sequined Burberry dress with a thigh-high split and fringed detailing, complemented by matching heels.

The film "Josephine" reportedly follows a titular character who experiences fear and paranoia after witnessing a violent assault in her childhood. Chan stars in the film opposite Channing Tatum.

Chan, who began dating Cooper in 2018, also recently spoke about the state of the film industry, describing it as a "brutal time" due to a "pushback against diversity." Despite these challenges, she expressed optimism, noting the return of audiences to cinemas.

She is slated to portray the pioneering Chinese-American Hollywood icon Anna May Wong in an upcoming biopic. The film is based on Graham Russell Gao Hodges' biography and will explore Wong's historic career, marked by significant roles in films like "Piccadilly" (1929) and "Shanghai Express" (1932), as well as the intense institutional racism she encountered.

Reflecting on the potential return of "Crazy Rich Asians," in which she played Astrid Leong, Chan indicated that there is ample material in Kevin Kwan's books for further exploration, suggesting that Astrid's story is far from complete.

Chan's career also includes roles in "Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them," "The Creator," and Marvel films. She was also recognized by Meghan Markle, appearing on the cover of British Vogue's September 2019 issue alongside 14 other women.

She stars opposite Channing Tatum in the film, which tells the story of the titular character, who battles fear and paranoia after witnessing an assault when she was just eight years old

Chan previously dated Jack Whitehall from 2011 until their split in 2017. She and Cooper now reside together in London.
