Actress Geena Davis, 70, has drawn attention for her remarkably youthful appearance, prompting speculation and expert commentary. While Davis herself has credited diligent daily use of SPF with her age-defying complexion, cosmetic professionals suggest a more multifaceted approach may be at play.
Anastasia Koles, an aesthetic nurse and founder of ALTA Medi Clinic London, indicated that while Davis has always possessed natural beauty and aged well, subtle aesthetic treatments are likely contributing to her current appearance. "Her skin looks remarkably smooth, even-toned and radiant, which suggests she may invest in treatments that improve skin quality rather than dramatically change her features," Koles told the Daily Mail. Procedures like Lumecca IPL, which target pigmentation and sun damage, are cited as potential options for maintaining a bright complexion.
Furthermore, Koles suggested that anti-wrinkle injections such as Botox could be used to soften expression lines while preserving natural movement. For the lower face, treatments like Morpheus8 or other radiofrequency microneedling therapies, which stimulate collagen production, might be employed to maintain firmness in the jawline and neck without appearing overdone. Koles emphasized that a combination of such treatments, along with a medical-grade skincare routine, chemical peels, gentle laser resurfacing, and consistent sun protection, can achieve a refreshed and natural look.
Davis herself has emphasized her long-standing commitment to sun protection. In an interview with New Beauty, she stated, "I’m firmly convinced that part of it is that I don’t take the sun. I always have sunblock on. It’s been that way since I was 22 or something." She also noted that she never developed a tan as a child and learned early on to avoid excessive sun exposure to prevent burning.
Regarding her skincare regimen, Davis admitted to not having a strict plan, humorously confessing to occasionally purchasing products seen on social media. "If I hear that something is anti-aging or will make my skin better, I buy it—but then I never use it!" she revealed. Despite this, she expressed gratitude for being able to maintain her skin's appearance.
Davis has also spoken about embracing her age, telling Yahoo in May, "I think it's fabulous. I've liked myself better every year. I even think I look better every year!" However, she has been an advocate for addressing ageism in Hollywood, noting the double standards for male and female actors regarding age and romantic leading roles.
