Geena Davis, 70, displayed a remarkably smooth complexion at the Elle BNP Paribas Women In Venice event during the Venice International Film Festival. The actress, known for her roles in films like "Tootsie" and "A League of Their Own," maintained a youthful appearance that has drawn attention and led to speculation about cosmetic interventions.
Davis herself attributes her age-defying visage primarily to consistent sun protection. "I’m firmly convinced that part of it is that I don’t take the sun. I always have sunblock on. It’s been that way since I was 22 or something," she told New Beauty in June. She added that she avoided tanning as a child, which she believes has significantly benefited her skin.
While Davis claims not to follow a strict skincare regimen, she has admitted to purchasing various products, particularly those advertised as anti-aging. However, she confessed that she often does not use them, crediting a genetic predisposition and her early commitment to sunscreen for her skin's condition.
Experts have also commented on Davis's appearance. Anastasia Koles, an aesthetic nurse, suggested that while Davis has always been naturally beautiful, subtle aesthetic treatments could also be a factor in maintaining her youthful look at 70. Koles noted that treatments focusing on improving skin quality, such as Lumecca IPL for pigmentation and sun damage, or anti-wrinkle injections like Botox to soften expression lines, could contribute to a refreshed appearance.
Furthermore, Koles speculated that skin-tightening treatments like Morpheus8 or radiofrequency microneedling might be responsible for maintaining a defined jawline and neck. "Combined with a medical-grade skincare routine, regular treatments such as chemical peels or gentle laser resurfacing, and good sun protection, it's entirely possible to achieve a result that looks refreshed, natural and age-appropriate rather than obviously 'done,'" Koles told the Daily Mail.
Despite the attention on her looks, Davis expressed pride in her age. "I think it's fabulous. I've liked myself better every year. I even think I look better every year!" she told Yahoo in May. She embraces aging, stating, "You don't worry about age anymore."
