Gabbriette Bechtel, the 29-year-old model and musician, recently shared insights into her marriage to Matty Healy and her approach to her career in an interview with Harper's Bazaar for its September 2026 ICONS Issue.

Bechtel, who tied the knot with The 1975 frontman last month in Los Angeles, described her husband as her best friend. "I feel like I've already met my best friend," she stated, adding that the wedding ceremony was primarily for their families. The couple married at Castillo del Lago in Los Angeles, followed by a honeymoon in California. Their wedding ceremony, attended by celebrity guests, took place under the Hollywood sign.

Reflecting on her career, Bechtel expressed a positive outlook on work and travel but identified negative individuals as her primary challenge. "People who don't appreciate what we're doing or see that there's a bigger picture to it," she noted.

Despite her success as a model, Bechtel admitted to struggling with stage fright, particularly disliking runway appearances. "I've only done runway, like, five times at this point, and I'm horrible at it," she confessed. She contrasted this with her past enjoyment of being onstage, stating that runway work evokes "the worst feeling on the planet."

Bechtel also discussed her method for handling criticism, explaining that she has learned to laugh it off rather than internalize it. "I know some people get severely affected by what's being said about them, and I've just learned to laugh," she said.

Earlier in August, Bechtel celebrated her 29th birthday with friends and Healy at the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles. She was seen wearing a sheer dress over black lace lingerie. The couple has been romantically linked since September 2023, announcing their engagement in 2024 after a nine-month relationship. Representatives for the couple confirmed their marriage in a private ceremony in Los Angeles attended by family and close friends. A source close to the couple told the Daily Mail that they "work really well together" and are "absolutely in love with each other."
