FX’s summer thriller series “The Shards” is delving into a pivotal moment for its teenage protagonists: Homecoming.
Beyond the looming threat of a serial killer known as the Trawler, and the protagonist Bret’s suspicion that the killer is among them in the form of a new student, Robert Mallory, the characters must also navigate the complexities of being crowned Homecoming King and Queen.
The series recently aired an episode that concluded with two significant plot developments. Debbie discovered the murder of Cha Cha Rodriguez in a restroom, and Really Rhonda appeared at the Hollywood lot where the show’s characters were gathered for a live taping of “Dance Off,” covered in blood.
Questions arise about the connection between Rhonda’s reappearance and Cha Cha’s death, the true identity of the Trawler, and the reliability of Bret’s perspective.
