French DJ and electropop musician Kavinsky, whose real name was Vincent Belorgey, has died at his home in Paris, French media reported Tuesday. He was 50 years old.

Authorities have opened an investigation into the cause of death, though the prosecutor's office stated that no suspicious elements were found at the scene.

Kavinsky, an icon of France's electronic music scene, achieved international fame with his 2010 song 'Nightcall.' The track was prominently featured in the 2011 film 'Drive,' starring Ryan Gosling, significantly boosting his global recognition.

He also performed 'Nightcall' at the closing ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. The musician was scheduled to headline the Garten on the Beach festival in Deauville next month.

French Culture Minister Catherine Pégard released a statement calling Kavinsky 'one of its most unique voices' and asserting that his music would continue to resonate across generations.
