Freddy Brazier has reconciled with his grandmother, Jackiey Budden, after attending the first scan for the child he is expecting, according to the Daily Mail.

Sources close to Brazier told the newspaper that seeing his unborn baby during a scan at a London hospital this week changed his outlook and prompted him to seek out his grandmother. After the appointment, the 20‑year‑old took Budden to a restaurant to mend their relationship and to celebrate his impending fatherhood, the sources said.

The reconciliation follows a public fall‑out last month in which Brazier made allegations online accusing Budden of introducing him to strong cannabis when he was a child. Budden, 68, strongly denied those claims to the Daily Mail, saying Brazier had smoked with peers before she ever did and that she had only ever tried to look after him. She also acknowledged that they had smoked cannabis together in recent years.

The family has endured a series of disputes and controversies since the death of Brazier's mother, the late reality star Jade Goody, in 2009. Freddy formerly lived with his father, television presenter Jeff Brazier, in Harlow, Essex, before moving to Budden's flat in Bermondsey, South East London, last year. Budden decorated and made available her late daughter's childhood bedroom for Freddy while he stayed with her, the Daily Mail reported.

Earlier in 2025, Jeff Brazier reportedly sought to limit Budden's contact with his son and lodged court paperwork to block the relationship, a move that sparked a family row. The newspaper said Jeff abandoned attempts to take legal action in August after he and Freddy reconciled. The Daily Mail also reported that Freddy briefly lived apart from his father for solace at his grandmother's home.

Freddy announced last month that he is to become a father with his on‑off girlfriend, Holly Swinburn, after she sent him photographs of a positive pregnancy test following a split. The couple, who have since been pictured together publicly, are understood to be trying to put differences aside as they prepare for parenthood, according to the Daily Mail.

A family friend quoted by the newspaper said the baby news had shifted priorities. "The baby news has changed everything and Freddy doesn't want to be estranged from his Nana, they've always been so close. He wants her to be involved in the baby's life," the friend said.

The Goody family has seen further changes this year: Jade Goody's eldest son, Bobby Brazier, has said he plans to leave acting and step away from show business to pursue his Hare Krishna faith in India after leaving his role on EastEnders.

Representatives for Freddy Brazier and Jeff Brazier did not immediately respond to requests for comment, and Budden's comments were provided to the Daily Mail.
